This month’s episode of Creative Catholic is about spiritual warfare and how the example of Jesus in Matthew 4 can help us withstand attacks on our life purpose.
The spiritual warfare example of Jesus includes: receiving the Holy Spirit, accepting our identity as a child of God, prayer, fasting, refusing to dialogue with Satan and countering evil influences with Scripture.
This episode was especially timely for me as I recently went through a dark episode of spiritual discouragement. During this time, I felt very disconnected from the sense of purpose that I wrote about in January (Crafting My Mission Statement) and I found the verses in these talks very helpful.
My only reservation about this episode is that I didn’t really stress other aspects of our faith. But I have included some of that in my recent post on spiritual desolation and St. Ignatius.
